Possessive Adjectives

The Possessive adjectives are: my, your, his, her, its, our, and their.
The possessive adjectives indicate who things belong to. For example:

It's my cell phone.
They're my keys.

Exercises
A. Identify the possessive adjectives in each sentence.

Ex. She asked him if he liked her hair. ( her)

1. I told my co-workers to bring their reports. ( )

2. My boss is always busy. ( )

3. You can bring your palm to the meeting. ( )

5. They have been preparing a new proyect for their supervisor. ( )



B. Write a possessive adjective.

6. Jane brought ____ new lap top. She has just bought it.

7. The accountants use __________ computer programs to register taxes.

8. Mr. Raymonds prepared _______ speech for the meeting.

9. That web site will require ________ password. You can't work without it.

10. We should have ________ office cleaned by tomorrow.

Subject and Object Pronouns

The Subject Pronouns are: I, you, he, she, it, we, and they.
A subject pronoun may be used as the subject of a sentence. For example:
  • Mike can work in another company.
  • He can work in another company.

The Object Pronouns are: me, you, him, her, it, us and them.

The object pronouns may be used as direct object of a sentence. For example:

  • The staff welcomed the new employee.
  • The staff welcomed him.

Exercise:

A. Identify if the words in red are subject (SP) or object (OP) pronouns.

Ex. You will have a great job opportunity soon. (SP)

B. Mark the subject pronouns in green and the object pronouns in blue.

Ex. The fax said, "I invite you to visit our new factory."

6. "I sometimes write them on Friday morning", he answered.

7. They take on a lot of responsibility.

8. We shouldn't have let it in the office.

9. He has told us that story a hundred times.

10. I don't want them to drop out of the team.
